ABOUT
Marcus Gray was born in South London, grew up in Surrey and moved to Brighton in 2018.
From a young age he was raised on 60's and 70's rock music namely, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton. In 2011 he went to his first live concert at The O2 to see The Pogues, and this was the night everything changed.
Supporting that night was Frank Turner. Frank's charisma and stage presence left a huge impact on Marcus and subsequently his future songwriting and performances.
Through his teenage years he discovered Brit-Pop and fell in love with the live sound of bands like Oasis, injecting a louder and more lively side to his music.
All of these influences come together to create an energetic and upbeat sound with strong dynamic vocals and subtle acoustic undertones. Crafted and produced together in classic rock and roll arrangements.
Marcus has spent the last 18 months building a catalogue of songs that he is proud of and excited to get out into the world, starting with his debut single 'Free Man'. A song about the internal struggle of trapping yourself in a situation you don't want to be in, but staying nonetheless.
Along with the extensive writing, Marcus hit the studio in October, recording 4 singles.
This is a man who know's what he wants and has the drive, and talent to back it up.
And I've got to shake it, take it, create what I need. Ain't no cost to my word's, and ain't no price to my dream's, that I won't pay, don't say, that you cannot believe.
